Permissions Policies

Permissions may be granted for reproduction of up to 25 pages of a single textbook to use for course study.   If a a single chapter is to be used, the total number of pages to allow the use of the entire chapter may be granted.  Such permissions can be requested from me directly.  The cost of use will be fifty (50) US cents per page per student per use. If more pages are required, it is best for the student to buy the textbooks themselves.

Permission to use portions of my textbooks for other purposes will be considered on an individual basis. Do not publish or or make multiple copies of these copyrighted materials without express permission (including posts to a website).  In all cases, specific permission should be sought. 

The exception to this is reasonable use by the purchaser that falls under fair-use.  For example, if you wish to photocopy a table or drawing or several pages from one of the texts to put in your birthbag or use for study or some other purely personal purpose, that is fine.  If you wish to quote short passages or copy a table or drawing and appropriately cite the material for publication in a review or an academic paper, feel free to do so.  Anything else that is considered industry standard fair-use is fine.   Please, however, do not distribute copies of any pages without applying for permission and paying the fee.
