RETURN POLICY DEFECTIVE BINDING, MISSING OR DUPLICATE PAGES: It is a printing fact-of-life that occasionally an imperfect book slips into circulation. Unfortunately, about 10% of the first printing of Holistic Midwifery contained books with bad bindings as well as misplaced, blank or missing pages or both. A very few of the revised edition of Holistic Midwifery and one or two copies of Diagnostic Tests have turned up defective as well. Because of the way reference books are used, some midwives have not noted page defects until they went to look something up, only to discover that the page wasn't there. Whatever the difficulty, please rest assured that we will exchange your defective item for a new one. Any defects should be reported as soon as they are noted. Truly defective bindings will start to be apparent soon after purchase. Any paper-bound book, used heavily enough, will eventually show wear and start to fall apart. Therefore, please report only those binding problems that you believe to be true defects in material or workmanship, not those produced by heavy use. TROUBLESHOOTING POSSIBLY DEFECTIVE VIDEOS: Defective video tapes have turned up on only two occasions. If you think your video tape is defective, first be sure the tape is formatted to the proper TV standard for your video machine. Click here to learn more about TV standards for video tapes. If the TV standard is correct, be sure to adjust the tracking on your video machine if the problem is horizontal white lines or other problems with the picture. If that doesn't help, return the tape for replacement. IF YOU NEED TO EXCHANGE A VIDEO TAPE: If you have the wrong TV standard, you must return the tape to me for exchange; upon receipt I will replace the tape. If the tape is actually defective, you must call or write to arrange replacement; since the tape must be returned directly to the manufacturer. Labrys Press will replace your tape upon receipt by the manufacturer. SHOULD I RETURN DEFECTIVE PRINTED ITEMS? As a general policy, please do not send me your defective printed items unless it is newly in print, in that case notify me for instructions first. Replacement of printed items is on the honor system. Returning heavy books costs you money and I must find a way to dispose of the books, since my printer is well aware of the problem and no longer requires samples to inspect the defects on books that have been in print for a while.
