HOLISTIC MIDWIFERY V1 ISBNs for Hol. Mid. 6th ed. Why are there apparently multiple ISBNs assigned to Vol I of Holistic Midwifery and which one is correct? When I first applied for an ISBN account, I was informed that sets comprised of multiple volumes needed an ISBN for each separate book in the set plus a number assigned to the entire series of books in the set. I therefore selected the ISBN: 1-891145-54-1 for the entire set and 1-891145-55-X for Vol. I. When I sent in my application, they noted that the entire series of volumes is not yet in print. Therefore they told me they would withhold publication of the ISBN assigned to the entire set until all volumes were available. They failed to do this, therefore two ISBNs are assigned to Holistic Midwifery in the Bowker publications which bookstores use for reference. Sorry for the confusion, but the one ending in X is the one you want for Volume I.
